05-01-2008 - Shortages

Hello Kenya Project Supporters,

I am sure many of you have heard the news of shortages of rice and other basic commodities through out the world. The violence that broke out in Kenya during the first three months of 2008 really hurt the countries food supply. Farms were burned in some areas of the country, and the result of the violence has a affected the food supply in a huge way. The good news is that peace has returned to the country, and the fields have been planted though not every where. Until the next harvest food prices and supply will be a crisis. We need your Help.

I spoke with mama Robi the other day and she told me of a grand mother who has moved in the community form the area that was hard hit by the violence, she come with 9 children all orphans. (left by two of her daughters who died). This are children that we will eventually have to help get to school and other needs but right now there is need for food, would you consider helping?.

The Kenya Project currently helps feed about 600 children. We need to take action and help the families and children that many of you support. Please consider giving up one meal to feed a hungry child or family. This would also be a great opportunity to share with our children the life of other children in Kenya and around the world. No gift is too small. Whatever you give will go along way to help, and if God impress'' in you to help in a large way, please consider the need. Please send your donation to, The Kenya Project P.O. "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him how can the love of God be in him?. Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence". 1 John 3:16-19
