Message from Executive Director
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Kenya project Website. I pray that your visit here will motivate you to join hands with us to change a life, build a family and to thank God for His faithfulness. It may also lead you to pray for us, sponsor one of the students or even join a mission team to Kenya .
We are an organization that could be described by the words of William Carey: "We must expect great things from God and we must attempt great things for God." That is what God has done in this ministry and continues to do. I pray that you will be motivated to pray for us and to serve with us.
Because of Him

The Kenya Project Vision
The Vision of The Kenya Project and its Kenyan Operating partner, Utunzi is to provide opportunities for children of Kenya to know and experience the love of God through support to meet their health, educational and Spiritual needs. Since 1998, we have worked diligently to provide the resources and facilities for the children's health, educational and Spiritual development. Through the sponsorship of children and the generosity of others, 511 children are sponsored by American families, most of which attend school on the expanding Mountain Park Academy campus. 224 children are unsponsored.
Currently, over 580 children attend Mountain Park Academy from pre-K (age 3) through 8th grade. The upper school houses eight classrooms, a library, computer lab and administrative offices for the entire campus. Unfortunately, the classrooms in this five year old, multi-storied facility accommodate only the older 4th through 8th grades. The remaining 86 attend classes in dark, sawmill buildings that crowd the children together shoulder-to-shoulder. It was revealed on one of the Kenya Project medical mission trips, that the buildings are harboring water born illnesses and that the health of the youngest children is being compromised.
Approximately 153 additional students have graduated from MPA and are sponsored in various secondary schools in Kenya after graduation from Mountain Park Academy along with 3 sponsored to special needs schools locally.
Upendo Homes provides housing and sponsorships for orphans. The first home opened in the spring of 2009. Twenty children and 2 houseparents have joined together as a family and live at what is known as "Hutch's House." The long-term goal is eight homes for up to 160 children at this location. Two more homes are scheduled to be completed this Fall.
The construction of a new primary school building is underway and the current goal at MPA. The building has been under construction since late 2010 and is scheduled to be completed by January 2012.
The building will also provide a secondary school for grades 9-12, or Form 1-4, as known in Kenya. This new school will greatly improve the learning environment for all the children at MPA. A $700,000 plus project is nearly paid for and The Kenya Project is working to raise the last $150,000 to pay for the school. The new school year begins in January The Kenya Project has built a new school, 3 children's homes, a dining hall, a guest house, drilled a well and built a playground since 2006 and all capital projects have been completely funded at the time of completion.
Thank you to all involved and we trust God's provision to complete this building project as well.
